This step-by-step drawing tutorial illustrates how to draw Son Goku from Dragon Ball in a dynamic mid-air fighting pose.

The drawing begins with a simple circle to establish the head structure, followed by a slightly pointed jawline to form Goku’s face shape. A basic ear is added on the side, keeping the proportions balanced. Light facial guidelines are then drawn to correctly position the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Next, Goku’s iconic spiky hair is sketched around the head. Large, sharp spikes extend outward in different directions, giving volume and energy to the character. The layered structure of the hair is carefully built to maintain depth and the classic Dragon Ball style.

Once the head is complete, the body is constructed using simple rounded shapes to block out the torso and limbs. One arm is drawn extended forward with a clenched fist, while the other arm bends backward to create a powerful attacking motion. The legs are positioned dynamically to enhance the sense of movement and perspective.

Facial details are refined to capture Goku’s intense battle expression, with sharp eyes and defined eyebrows. His muscular upper body is shaped with clear chest and arm definition. The torn gi is added with rough, jagged edges around the sleeves and pants to emphasize a battle-damaged look.

In the final stage, clean outlines replace rough sketches, and detailed pencil shading is applied. The hair is shaded with strong contrast to highlight volume, while the muscles and clothing folds are shaded using smooth gradients to create depth and dimension. The result is a bold and energetic illustration of Son Goku, focusing on motion, anatomy, and dramatic shading.
